Prempeh College

Prempeh College alias Amanfo) beat their two competitors to win the trophy in the 22nd edition of the 2017 National Science and Mathematics Quiz competition.

The three Senior High Schools finalists in the contest; St. Thomas Aquinas from Greater Accra, Adisadel College from Central Region and Prempeh College from Ashanti Region contended emulously for the laurels but Amanfo) was crowned winner  with two differential points against Aquinas.

Prempeh claimed the 2017 NSMQ title with 53 points, while Aquinas occupied the second position with 51 points and Adisadel College placed third with 31 points, making Amanfo) the four-time champions of NSMQ.

The prizes for the contestant include; laptops, cheques, smart phones among others. Prempeh took home GHS40,000, packages from Tigo and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB). Aquinas had GHS 30,000, packages from Tigo and GCB. Adisadel also took home GHS20,000, packages from Tio and GBC.

The Special Award from Pro Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu for the best female contestant worth GHS 5,000 went to Zuweira Bada Mohammed from Tamale SHS. The most successful team award by Mr Kwaku Mensa-Bonsu worth GHS 7,000 went to Nifa SHS. Tamale SHS won the most outstanding team award with a cash prize of GHS 2, 000. All the finalists got GHS 10,000 each; GHS 5, 000 to their schools, GHS 2,500 to the contestants and GHS 2,500 to their teachers.

The 2017 edition of the NMQ was sponsored by the Ghana Education Service through the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) and supported by Tigo, GOIL, Prudential Life Insurance, Accra College of Medicine GCB and Citi FM.
